In some senses i believe it does.

My fiance' will only ask for directions if he's 2 or more hours late and so lost that he's forgotten what state he's in (figurativly of course). Where as I will ask for direction almost as soon as it sinks in that I'm lost. I will not deny that i am lost and asking for directions isn't so hard.
